Dr. Jessica Clark is a proud New Orleans native, having completed her Bachelors of Science Degree in Neuroscience at Tulane University, followed by attendance at LSU Medical School of New Orleans for both her undergraduate medical degree and her residency training in psychiatry. She treats patients from age 18 into the geriatric years of life. Upon completing residency training, Dr. Clark moved straight into full-time work treating the underserved population of Orleans and St. Bernard Parishes. Her years of service in such a setting were an invaluable learning experience that has prepared her above and beyond her numerical years of practice in psychiatry.
Having experience in both community mental health and private practice settings, Dr. Clark has had extensive experience in treating the full gamut of mental health illnesses, from mild impairment to severe psychopathology. She welcomes and appreciates treating all types of disorders and is particularly interested in the evaluation and treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Bipolar Disorders, Women’s Health issues and Psychotic Disorders.
Though always considered by Dr. Clark to be an integral part of a person’s mental health well-being, the powerful effects of non-pharmacological treatments in all the various disorders have increasingly become a strong focus of her overall treatment initiative. Through research and self-practice, she has explored the many benefits of Mindfulness practices, incorporating physical adjuncts such as yoga and various breathing techniques. Dr. Clark regularly integrates these practices into her standard of care treatment, eager to do so, depending on each patient’s wants and needs.
